o A 1994 Swiss study gives insight to the trends among church- goers, regardless of religion. The study provided a wide-range of family scenarios; providing data for a variety of family situations. What happens if the mother is practicing and the father is non-practicing? What happens if only the father is practicing? The results seem to suggest that children follow the example of dad.
❖ If both mom and dad go to church faithfully, 33% of their children will grow up to be regular attending patrons of the church.
❖ If only mom is taking the kids to church, only 2% of children will become lifelong church-goers, while 37% will attend occasionally. An excess of 60% of her children will end up leaving the church.
❖ What happens if dad is active, but mom is not? Curiously, the numbers seem to go up. As previously stated, 33% of children remain when they witness both mom and dad going to church regularly. The number grows to 38% with an active dad and an occasionally active mom. It continues to go up to 44% when it’s just dad taking the kids to church.
❖ To sum up the data: if dad does not attend regularly, only 1 in 50 of his children will remain in the church.
❖ According to another study conducted by LifeWay Research Group, Father’s Day is the single lowest average holiday for church attendance (lower than Labor Day, Memorial Day and the Fourth of July). Conversely, Mother’s Day has the third highest church attendance (after Easter and Christmas).

(BEGIN PART 2) First off, we must realize that the Catholic faith (Christianity) is a faith of the intellect and not our feelings.
Men today have been conned and manipulated into believing that Christ is all about some mushy, weepy, emotionally filled, God.
And this is so far from the truth.
To give your life for the world takes more than feelings, it takes a sense of honor, purpose, and duty as well!
Suffering and sacrifice and daily devotion, and penance do not come from feelings.
But from a sense of duty, responsibility, honor, truth, purpose, and a true and vibrant mission as a man.
You cannot sustain a dedicated daily prayer life without these attributes.
The more you pray, the more grace comes to you, which trickles down to your wife, marriage, and children.
And the closer you become to God and His Son!
Don’t get it twisted, this is the life of a true, authentic, masculine man!
To in fact, give his life away daily for God, his Beloved wife, and his children.
Feelings will get you in trouble and they are temporary and fleeting!
But more important, they are from Satan and will steel your dedication and duty to God, and your wife, if you are not careful!
Again, we must learn to serve and place our wants, needs, and desires below God, our wife, and children.
Leading our family towards Christ is not easy.
But credibility is the key, as seen above fathers and husbands are the key to a thriving, prosperous, loving, and devoted home.
If you as the father, do it, it means to your kids that this is really important.
So, what are some actions that you can do to serve God, love your wife, and children, and lead them towards Christ?
❖1. Place God at the top of your mind always; striving for holiness, sainthood, and perfection.
❖2. Prayer throughout the day; offering up your sufferings and uniting them with Christ; asking for the grace to endure.
❖3. Attending daily mass often. 7 days a week.
❖4. Read scripture daily; at least 15 minutes per day. ❖5. Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church daily.
❖6. Study and embrace the lives of the saints.
❖7. Start an apostolate/ministry to evangelize your environment.
❖ 8. Embrace leadership in your Parish/Church. Sit on committees. Mold your Church, using your gift of masculinity. Attend events, get involved.
